WEEK THREE: ADD WRITING, PHOTOS, AUDIO AND VIDEO TO YOUR WIKI (21 May - 27 May)
This week we will look at adding various media to our wikis. Remember that the basic requirement of the cours is to create a wiki and add some navigation pages, plus comment on each week to show you are still with us. All these other additions are for you to work with when you are ready to do so.
Now I have gone one step further and show the whole process using Screencast-o-matic on the left. On the right I have uploaded the Screencast-o-matic video to YouTube. Amazing what you can do on the Internet all for free!
One of the marvelous things about a wiki is that you can easily add a video. However the video has to be uploaded to another platform such as YouTube first to generate an HTML code. This section explains how to embed a YouTube video on a wiki. We will explore adding two YouTube videos, converting the size to 420 pixels rather than 560pixels and placing them side by side. The embedded PowerPoint below will give step by step instructions.
Now it is time again to add a comment for the week just to let us know how all is going. Have you made your wiki yet? Gave you tried adding photos, video or audio? Are you just too busy at school? Whatever the situation, tell us about it. You will find the link below:

I usually make a table and then add two photos side by side. Try and keep a gap between the photos and make sure your photos are under 500KB.

This is my favourite video about the social
networking age in which we live
This teacher shows how she uses wikis
and annotation skills in her class.
Here is a Powerpoint with step-by-step notes as well as a Screencast-o-matic video that has been uploaded to YouTube showing the process.
